- Replacement Tube for 20 in B-7 Classic Bird Feeder
Birds That Use This Feeder
Type Of Feed
I recently acquired an original B-7 Feeder, from a Goodwill store... for pennies. The feeder is in excellent condition. It measures 30 inches from top to bottom and has a clear catch tray around the bottom of it. I also has a clear tube attached to the bottom of it that is 4-5 inches. I don't know its purpose, but will have the feeder filled with sunflower seed and hanging off a 10foot rod from a very tall tree, by this weekend. I also have several other Droll Yankee Feeders.
I bought my first B-7 sometime around 1977. Still good today. I bet I put several tons of sunflower seeds thru this feeder ... No other feeder is better, all others have failed. I plan to take it with me on every move until "death do us part"....
My B-7 feeder was purchased in December 1972 when living in New Hampshire and has served well in Virginia and back home in my native Vermont ever since. It has survived two episodes with bears with no damage other than a bent perch. Many other extra bird feeders have been purchased since and most have failed to stand up as well. Frankly, I think any money invested in bird feeders other than those from Droll Yankees is simply wasted. Droll Yankees B series bird feeders are clearly the best ones built.
Have had it over 25+ years! Feed year round. Placed in full sun area-- UV finally killed the tube (ordering a replacement tube). Best feeder I have had by far. Worth every cent!
Absolutely!!! In Iowa we have lots of wind and storms. Best feeder we have ever owned. Squirrels can't get to it. It holds 8 pound of bird seed. Less time filling the feeder all the time. We bought on last year and I'm ordering another one today. I'm hoping the B-7F is identical to the B-7.
