Cleaning: Dirty feeders spread disease. We recommend disinfecting your nectar feeders every three to five days, or more frequently if you notice your nectar has become cloudy. Soak all parts in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Use a bird feeder brush to brush away grime inside the feeder.
2 Year Manufacturing Warranty: Register your product online here. Once you register, the Forever Promise covers all feeders, accessories and components from manufacturing and materials defects for 2 years or 24 months from date of purchase. Droll Yankees will repair or replace, at its discretion, any manufacturing defect in these products free of charge. The Forever Promise does not cover damage through normal wear and tear, weather, or bear, raccoon or other animal damage.
Lifetime Squirrel-Damage Warranty: If your feeder is badly damaged by squirrels, to the extent that the effectiveness of the feeder is compromised, The Forever Promise also includes a lifetime warranty against squirrel-damage on all our products.
I had my first Droll Yankee feeder for years and years until I dropped it and broke it a few weeks ago. Worried about my hummers, I borrowed my neighbor’s much more complicated feeder with blossom type ports. It dripped constantly and attracted nothing but bugs and bees. And when I took it apart to clean it I found mold and so many pieces that had to be intricately cleaned - it took forever! I was so happy when my new Droll Yankee feeder arrived - even if my hummers have all left for the winter. It is so simple to use and clean and I can see the hummers no matter which port they use - no bugs, no dripping. My neighbor will be getting a Droll Yankee hummingbird feeder for Christmas!

Hummingbirds can't reach the nectar unless it's full. It took ten days to get here. I could've bought something nicer and cheaper at our local hardware. I will have to anyway. This thing is useless. And very difficult to fill. Spills all over. Won't sit up straight for filling.
Hi Jim, Thank you for your review on Droll Yankees® Little Flyer 4 Red Hummingbird Feeder, 10 oz. capacity, 7 in. diameter. We appreciate your feedback. We strive every day to create the highest quality products for birds and birders alike, and we always appreciate people who love the birds. A hummingbird's tongue is roughly twice the length of its beak. It actually licks the nectar (approximately 13 licks per second!), instead of drinking from the feeder directly. Looking at its beak, it might seem that it can't reach the nectar in the bottom of the feeder. But because its tongue extends much longer than its beak, it's actually able to lick the nectar that is beyond its beak. If you look closely with binoculars, you might even be able to see the hummer's tongue. It is normal for a little bit of nectar to spill out when filling and hanging the feeder, or when it is tilted sideways. If you still experience leaks from your hummingbird feeder, it is very possible that your feeder has a crack. Check for any cracks on both the feeder and feeding ports. If you have any other questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Customer Service Team at 1-800-352-9164 or email@example.com. Thank you for flying with our flock!
I have been using this feeder for over 20 years and have been drilling my own hole so that rain water can drain out from the center ant block. I was very pleased that there is now a hole for drainage. I understand putting the base so that it can be attached to a pole however it does put it off balance when filling it for hanging. I love that you can see the birds no matter where they land.

It's a nice small capacity feeder, and easy to refill, but the cost is higher than it should be for this very simple design.

I bought this feeder after a few other feeders that all drip like crazy. I live in California where the days can be in the 80's and the nights in the 50's. The temperature difference "pumps" the other feeders dry. My only, small, suggestion is to add a ridge on the edge of the lid for smaller hummingbirds. I added a ridge with some hot glue. That way the birds can rest while feeding. I've added some pictures. My hummingbirds, mostly chin strap hummingbirds were too small to use the perch. They figured out the new ridge in a couple of days and perch and feed.
