Cleaning: Dirty bird feeders spread disease. We recommend cleaning your feeders weekly, or monthly at a minimum. Do not put your feeder in the dishwasher as the high temperatures can permanently damage the feeder parts. Clean your feeders outdoors with a large bucket, and always wear gloves when cleaning. Soak your feeder in a 9:1 solution of water and bleach for 15 minutes. Then use a bird feeder brush to scrub the feeder with dish soap and water. Refill when completely dry.
2 Year Manufacturing Warranty: Register your product online here. Once you register, the Forever Promise covers all feeders, accessories and components from manufacturing and materials defects for 2 years or 24 months from date of purchase. Droll Yankees will repair or replace, at its discretion, any manufacturing defect in these products free of charge. The Forever Promise does not cover damage through normal wear and tear, weather, or bear, raccoon or other animal damage.
Lifetime Squirrel-Damage Warranty: If your feeder is badly damaged by squirrels, to the extent that the effectiveness of the feeder is compromised, The Forever Promise also includes a lifetime warranty against squirrel-damage on all our products.
Birds That Use This Feeder
Type Of Feed
Good feeder, slightly unstable base
The feeder wobbles when mounted to the pole we bought with it. Some plastic sheeting around the threads of the mount has helped. We have reported this, but so far no action. A solution might be to make the mount that fits into the pole 12 inches instead of 1 inch.
Hi Rufus, We are sorry to hear that the feeder wobbles when pole-mounted. We wanted to confirm whether you are using the Threaded Pole Adapter to pole-mount this? https://morebirds.com/products/droll-yankees-threaded-pole-adapter-for-pole-mounting-adpt If not, you will want to purchase this part to ensure your feeder is properly pole-mounted. We hope this information helps!
Great product, love the ease of cleaning. Very happy with this feeder and so are the birds!
How to extend the perches on a Ring Pull feeder
I recently replaced my old classic A series feeder with a ring-pull feeder. I was concerned about the comments that the perch rods were too short. On my old feeder, I cantilevered the perches so they would stick out more on one side, creating a longer perch for the cardinals. On the new feeder, the perches cannot be moved, so I used 1/4 inch PEX plastic pipe (PEX pipe 1/4 in x 5 ft PEX-b tubing) to extend the perches, using a 4 to 5 inch piece of tube on each one. The plastic tube slips right over the metal rod. If there is writing stamped on the plastic, you can clean it off with nail polish remover. The cardinals can sit on the end of the perch and easily reach the seeds without contortion.
This feeder is the best
Love how it comes apart to clean
Droll Yankees Ring Pull Silver Sunflower Feeder
Very good. Very easy to fill. The tray on the bottom catches seeds that fall out while the birds are feeding . I also like the holes drilled in the perimeter of the tray to allow rain water to drain. I installed it outside our living room window hanging from a wire hook. It’s so relaxing watching the various birds feed and the “pecking order” with the various birds. I previously purchased a Droll Yankee “Squirrel Slinger” and it is still working fine after a year. It’s easy to clean and fill just like the one I recently purchased.
