Cleaning: Dirty bird feeders spread disease. We recommend cleaning your feeders weekly, or monthly at a minimum. Do not put your feeder in the dishwasher as the high temperatures can permanently damage the feeder parts. Clean your feeders outdoors with a large bucket, and always wear gloves when cleaning. Soak your feeder in a 9:1 solution of water and bleach for 15 minutes. Then use a bird feeder brush to scrub the feeder with dish soap and water. Refill when completely dry.
2 Year Manufacturing Warranty: Register your product online here. Once you register, the Forever Promise covers all feeders, accessories and components from manufacturing and materials defects for 2 years or 24 months from date of purchase. Droll Yankees will repair or replace, at its discretion, any manufacturing defect in these products free of charge. The Forever Promise does not cover damage through normal wear and tear, weather, or bear, raccoon or other animal damage.
Lifetime Squirrel-Damage Warranty: If your feeder is badly damaged by squirrels, to the extent that the effectiveness of the feeder is compromised, The Forever Promise also includes a lifetime warranty against squirrel-damage on all our products.

Black Peanut Feeder
Very poor. Don’t think the openings are big enough to dispense peanuts. Now maybe “black” peanut means something different than I had in mind.
Hi Terry, Thank you for your review of the Droll Yankees New Generation Black Peanut Feeder. We are sorry that you do not feel the opening are big enough to dispense peanuts. The opening are large enough, we assure you, to dispense shelled peanuts. The black is just in reference to the color of the feeder. If you have any other questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Customer Service Department at 1-800-352-9164. Thank you for flying with our flock.
I have two peanut feeders that I have had for about 20 years. They are the older design that uses the aluminum purchase rod to hold the mesh tube in place. I no longer try to keep the squirts away from the peanuts. They won. They stay away from the house and they share with the blue jays, Wood peckers etc. I love the quality of the droll yankees products and their service. I also have several other types of Droll yankees feeders including the Flipper. The Flipper Is filled with sunflower Seed harts and is at least 10 years old and Is a great deal of fun when the new crop of squirts try it out.
I have 2 of these feeders which were purchased 10- 15 years ago. They finally are falling apart after constant use all that time. My feeders must be a previous design, since the mesh is connected to the base only by the metal perch which slides through the mesh and base. One of the perches has gone missing, so now the base will not stay on the feeder. The other one is now loose, and the perch slips out of place, currently hanging most of the way out, so I am in danger of that one falling apart as well. I looked for replacement perches and don't see them in parts. The mesh for both has been pulled on by squirrels I presume, and probably needs replacing as well. What do you recommend? I love having the peanuts, as we constantly have all sorts of birds enjoying them.

I've had this peanut feeder for several years. I have it located hanging from a pole system that has 4 arms, about 6 ft off the ground, AND A BAFFLE. I did see a squirrel on the feeder once; never figured out how it got there. This comment is about the wire mesh which is borderline sturdy, so some of the wires near the bottom have come loose. I tied them down with wire, but that is temporary. I will call on Monday Nov 11 or Tues Nov 12 asking for a replacement wire mesh
Hello Don, Thank you for contacting Droll Yankees. Squirrels are so clever and relentless and it seems sometimes that theyre smarter than most other animals. One of the biggest challenges to feeding wild birdsour own challenge toois deterring squirrels. We work on a daily basis to create quality products and cultivate good advice that will help us all win this fight. Although this is not a squirrel-proof feeder, Id be more than happy to offer some squirrel-proofing advice. The key to successfully keeping a feeder squirrel-proof is its placement. Squirrels are agile and are able to jump up to 8ft horizontally and 4ft vertically. For this reason, we recommend that feeders be placed 8ft away from any structures that they can climb on so that they do not reach across to access the feeding holes. It can be helpful to trim back and prune any nearby bushes or branches within 12ft of a feeder. We also recommend that feeders be placed higher than 4ft off the ground, preventing the squirrels from jumping and grabbing onto the bottom. If you are using a hook or pole, we recommend that the hook have at least a 16in distance from the pole. Placing a baffle on the pole or having a caged feeder will also help to ensure squirrel-proofing success. The Lifetime Warranty covers defective parts and squirrel damage. Just like everything physical, after a while, normal wear and tear will begin to take its toll on a product. This wear and tear is not due to the part having a defect in materials or workmanship, but is due to the inescapable fact that products do wear and tear, and after a long while, products will not be in as good shape as when originally purchased.
