Cleaning: Dirty feeders spread disease. We recommend disinfecting your nectar feeders every three to five days, or more frequently if you notice your nectar has become cloudy. Do not put your feeder in the dishwasher as the high temperatures can permanently damage the feeder parts. Soak all parts in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Use a bird feeder brush to brush away grime inside the feeder.
2 Year Manufacturing Warranty: Register your product online here. Once you register, the Forever Promise covers all feeders, accessories and components from manufacturing and materials defects for 2 years or 24 months from date of purchase. Droll Yankees will repair or replace, at its discretion, any manufacturing defect in these products free of charge. The Forever Promise does not cover damage through normal wear and tear, weather, or bear, raccoon or other animal damage.
Lifetime Squirrel-Damage Warranty: If your feeder is badly damaged by squirrels, to the extent that the effectiveness of the feeder is compromised, The Forever Promise also includes a lifetime warranty against squirrel-damage on all our products.
Love the Ruby Sipper!
I love feeding the hummingbirds with the Ruby Sipper. I live in the northeast and don't need large hummingbird feeders, but since I do have about a dozen hummingbirds, I like to keep all of them happy. I put them on all sides of the house so that a dominant male can only keep watch over one at a time. They are very easy to clean and refill. Clean feeders are important, as is fresh nectar. So every few days when I refill the feeders, I wash them and clean the ports as well. They are busy all day long and never fail to entertain and delight us. I've been using mine for at least 5 years and they still look brand new. Great product!

I had the same experience as some of those who wrote in already. I watched the hummingbird come to the feeder, not find a way to the nectar, and fly away. I waited a day, he never came back. Very disappointing.
Hello Fred, Thank you for contacting Droll Yankees. We are very sorry that you haven’t seen hummingbirds on your nectar feeder. Birds are creatures of habit, and it can take them days or even weeks to use a new hummingbird feeder. There is something new in the yard that they are not used to, and they need to warm up to it first. We would suggest temporarily removing other hummingbird feeders in the area so that the hummingbirds will be encouraged to use the new one. Make sure you are regularly cleaning your hummingbird feeder. Hummingbirds often avoid feeders that have rancid nectar. We recommend disinfecting your nectar feeders with a 50/50 solution of hot water and white vinegar every three to five days. Increase cleaning frequency if you notice your nectar has become cloudy. Hummingbirds have a notorious affinity for the color red. That’s why red is used so predominantly on hummingbird feeders. Tying a red ribbon on your feeder that will move in the wind is one way to get their attention. Another way is to position your feeder within inches of a hanging plant that is attractive to hummers, such as fuchsia, where they’ll practically trip over the feeder. Once the hummers recognize the feeder as a food source, you can place it almost anywhere. Hummers are attracted by a wide variety of flowers. Some favorites are: American columbine, bee balm, bugleweed, butterfly milkweed, choral bean, coralberry, fuchsia, hibiscus, hollyhock, larkspur, lemon bottlebrush, mimosa tree, evening primrose, red buckeye, red impatiens, red salvia, sage tiger lily, trumpet honeysuckle, trumpet vine, weigela, and zinnia. We hope that the hummingbirds begin to use the feeder soon, and please keep us updated! If you have any additional questions or concerns, please call our Customer Service Department at 1-800-352-9164 and any one of our Customer Service Reps will be happy to assist you. Our hours are 7 am – 4:30 pm Mon-Fri (EST). Thank you for flying with our flock!
I love this feeder too! The small size is great. We live in Nevada, and in the summer need to change the nectar daily. With this size, the hummers have often just emptied it, but that is fine. I can also just keep extras around, and replace the feeder with a full one. This saves them the anxious humoring at the window, or the one which actually flew into the house after me one day... I have the hanging in several locations around the house. I find them exceedingly easy to clean as well.
I love this little feeder. It took the second year, but the Hummers like it. I attached an ant guard and everything is A-Ok! Easy to clean and holds just enough. This feeder hangs over my flower bed, so easy for the Hummers and for me.
I love this feeder. I now have four, that way I can just switch out as needed for replenishment and I don't have to wash it immediately and the hummers don't have to wait for me to come back out. The feeder's design is easy to clean, no hidden areas. I love the smaller feeders as I only put about a half a cup at a time so there is no time for it to go bad. The design of the feeder makes it easy to see the birds as they enjoy their drink.Chris
