Cleaning: Please! For the sake of the birds, keep your feeder clean! Dirty feeders spread disease. We recommend disinfecting your nectar feeders every three to five days, or more frequently if you notice your nectar has become cloudy. Soak all parts in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Use a bird feeder brush to brush away grime inside the feeder.
2 Year Manufacturing Warranty: Register your product online here. Once you register, the Forever Promise covers all feeders, accessories and components from manufacturing and materials defects for 2 years or 24 months from date of purchase. Droll Yankees will repair or replace, at its discretion, any manufacturing defect in these products free of charge. The Forever Promise does not cover damage through normal wear and tear, weather, or bear, raccoon or other animal damage.
Lifetime Squirrel-Damage Warranty: If your feeder is badly damaged by squirrels, to the extent that the effectiveness of the feeder is compromised, The Forever Promise also includes a lifetime warranty against squirrel-damage on all our products.
Birds That Use This Feeder
Type Of Feed
I boughy two of the Classic Oriole Feeder, I was looking for the hummingbird feeder and the sales perdon directed me to these. The hummingbirds are interested but don't really feed. Did I make a mistake in this purchase?
Hi Linda, Thank you for contacting Droll Yankees. We are sorry to hear the hummingbirds arent feeding from your new feeder! Although hummingbirds will feed from oriole feeders, we would recommend one of our hummingbird feeders instead. We hope this information helps!
I too find the nectar level in the bowl appears to be too low. It's about 3/4 to 1 inch below feeder ports. On speaking to an agent, I was re assured it was normal. I only purchased the feeder yesterday, so I'm unable to say it's ok ( or not) Any comments or feedback would be most welcome. Unit appears to be well made and sturdy. Time will tell how it weathers.
Hi Ken, Were sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the nectar levels in the Classic Oriole Feeder! I have forwarded your review to our product development team so they can be aware of your experience. Please email a photo to email@example.com so we can determine whether your feeder is experiencing a manufacturing defect. Thank you for flying with our flock!
I just received my Oriole feeder and I have to say it is beautifully constructed, however after reading the reviews I can see two issues. 1) The fill level does seem to be low, 2) The insect guards might be too restrictive. It's early spring with few bugs about, so I'm going to remove the guards in hopes of easier access when first time Oriole users try the new feeder. I'm sure once they are use to the new addition, nothing will stop their thirst for nectar and I can replace the guards. Thanks to all the people at Droll Yankees for all you do for birds.
At this point, I can only give a one star for robust construction. Unfortunately, this feeder doesnt fill completely as a previous post states. The Orioles land and attempt to eat, but leave after trying and land on our hummingbird feeder to no avail. I believe this feeder as two issues the first being the low fill level and the second the plastics flaps seem restrictive. Too bad as it is a solid unit. We wanted this solely for Orioles but I would search around for one without these issues. Obviously this is just our opinion.
Hello Greg, We are sorry that you are experiencing issues with the Classic Oriole Feeder. Based on your review, it sounds as if there could be a manufacturing error with your feeder. Please send a video of the issue you are experiencing to our Customer Service Department at firstname.lastname@example.org and any one of our Customer Service Reps will be happy to directly handle your case. Thank you.
I am thrilled with this oriole nectar feeder! I bought an oriole nectar feeder from another company, and it was a disaster - the ports allowed insects in, and I had lots of bees and flies dying. ?? The Droll Yankees is designed to keep insects out, and it is beautiful. Thank you!
