Cleaning: Please! For the sake of the birds, keep your feeder clean! Dirty feeders spread disease. We recommend disinfecting your nectar feeders every three to five days, or more frequently if you notice your nectar has become cloudy. Soak all parts in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Use a bird feeder brush to brush away grime inside the feeder.
2 Year Manufacturing Warranty: Register your product online here. Once you register, the Forever Promise covers all feeders, accessories and components from manufacturing and materials defects for 2 years or 24 months from date of purchase. Droll Yankees will repair or replace, at its discretion, any manufacturing defect in these products free of charge. The Forever Promise does not cover damage through normal wear and tear, weather, or bear, raccoon or other animal damage.
Lifetime Squirrel-Damage Warranty: If your feeder is badly damaged by squirrels, to the extent that the effectiveness of the feeder is compromised, The Forever Promise also includes a lifetime warranty against squirrel-damage on all our products.
It's a nice small capacity feeder, and easy to refill, but the cost is higher than it should be for this very simple design.

I bought this feeder after a few other feeders that all drip like crazy. I live in California where the days can be in the 80's and the nights in the 50's. The temperature difference "pumps" the other feeders dry. My only, small, suggestion is to add a ridge on the edge of the lid for smaller hummingbirds. I added a ridge with some hot glue. That way the birds can rest while feeding. I've added some pictures. My hummingbirds, mostly chin strap hummingbirds were too small to use the perch. They figured out the new ridge in a couple of days and perch and feed.
To the comments about ounce size being incorrect at 10 oz. capacity. I mix nectar 8 oz. at a time, when I add the 1/4 cup sugar, dissolve it, and pour it back into my measuring cup it equals 10 oz roughly. It fills to the top line on clear tray. I can snap the top on and have no overflow or leaking. I have had this feeder for years, not used every year but brought it out this summer and find it easy to take care of and lots of hummers. Will need to get new ports for next summer.
Bought 2 of the little flyer 4 and they say they hold 10oz of nectar. I made 20oz and have 4oz left over. These only hold 8oz obviously. Can't believe the packaging says 10oz. Filled them to the brim!
Hi Heather, Thank you for contacting Droll Yankees and bringing this issue to our attention. I have forwarded your feedback to our product development team so they can verify the capacity. Thank you for flying with our flock!
My husband & I have 2 of these feeders, have used them for several summers. For the most part, we have been pleased. However, we have just this season noticed the problem which some have mentioned in their previous reviews, [May I say as an aside that I generally intensely dislike reading reviews (too much whining!) or writing them.] that is, the inability of hummies to eat while perching. What we've observed re: this is that larger ones can manage due to body size & beak length, but the littler ones must either keep flying or perch on the rim of the top itself. Thanks for reading what I might wish was totally positive! Over decades, our overall experience with Droll Yankee feeders has been great.
