Ordered bird feeder and seed tray in November as a Christmas gift for my mother, seed tray made it AFTER Christmas and the bird feeder is still showing as stuck in a USPS warehouse as of Dec 5th and on the way to its next destination. Maybe my elderly mother will have her bird feeder by Christmas 2021 and then I'll be able to tell you whether the Omni Seed Tray is worth anything. Here's an idea: Don't use USPS as your shipping vendor!
Hi Christina, Thank you for your review of the Droll Yankees 10.5 in. Omni Seed Tray. We are sorry to hear that you have not received part of your order yet. We do see that you placed the order on 11/30/2020 and it left our warehouse on 12/2/2020. The last tracking notification shows it as in transit on 12/9/2020. With the pandemic, election and holidays, the USPS, UPS and FedEx vendors have all been seeing unprecedented numbers of packages and thus experience extreme delays, domestically and globally. We speak for ourselves and the shipping vendors when we say thank you for your patience. If you do not receive your package in the next week, please give our Customer Service Team a call at 1-800-352-9164 and we can work on a solution, if your package has been lost. Thank you for flying with our flock.
We’re just beginning to use it, so it’s to early to write a review. But we are pleased by its clever, functional design. We were not pleased by the delivery system: The promised notification-of-shipment never showed up, so the feeder arrived unannounced at the end of 10 days. It would’ve been nice to know that it was coming

We apologize for the lack of a shipment notification. We are still troubleshooting a couple issues with our new website and we understand that not receiving this notification can be frustrating. Should you have any other questions, comments or concerns about our products, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Customer Service Department at 1-800-352-9164 and any of our representatives would be happy to assist you. Thank you and happy birding!
Yah, seed trays are supposed to catch seeds spilled or discarded at the feeder. This tray does that and more. It allows larger birds (grosbeaks) to access the feeder (at the bottom port) and catches the seed debris (and bird droppings) keeping it from accumulating in a pile under the feeders. I keep the seed debris to a minimum by using only hulled sunflower (no mixes). I don't want to encourage birds to forage for food amongst the bird droppings. It is also easy to remove for weekly cleaning cleaning and it fits in my dishwasher so I can sanitize it. My classic Droll Yankees tubes are like the energizer bunny - they don't wear out (unless the bears take an interest in them). This tray is an excellent product!
This tray has greatly helped with reducing seed waste from both my B series feeders. My flock of Gold Finches create quite a mess as they toss things about but much of the seed is captured by this tray. Then the Mourning Doves land on the tray and can feed as if the food were already on the ground; it's a perfect size for them. Highly recommended!
Outstanding! Just ordering two more . . . . my squirrels like to lay in the tray!
