How many decals should I put on a window?
On an average size window, one decal should be enough. A sliding door or a large window may need two or more decals. The number needed will be determined by the placement of your bird feeders, the location of trees and shrubs, the way the light reflects on your windows, and various other factors.
Will the decal stop all bird collisions?
It has been estimated that as many as one billion birds die annually from hitting windows. Many of those are killed by colliding with lighted buildings while migrating at night. In the case of birds around our houses, no method is perfect, as nothing can prevent the panic flights caused by hawks and other predators. If you work in or near buildings that are left lighted at night, please help educate those who influence that decision.
Web to deter glass crashing birds.
The web was a bonus given to me when I ordered 2 squirrel free feeders. I put it on my front storm door as it has two glass panels they fly into. They are still flying into it. I don’t know if it’s just the lower panel as I only have the decal on the top panel. Not sure if I would buy this. I have two other spots that need something like this.
Hi Carol, We're so sorry to hear you are still having issues with bird strikes! In order for window decals to be effective against window strikes, you'll need to cover the majority of the window with decals, placed less than 4" apart. Of course, no method is 100% effective, so we also recommend turning lights off in your home when you are not using that room. For more information on preventing window strikes, we recommend reading this article: https://morebirds.com/blogs/news/how-to-prevent-window-strikes We hope this information helps!
