    They Love it

They seem to love the food, but I am not sure if its the food or the feeder they really like. I have not tried another type of food. I'd like to be able to purchase the food locally and am wondering where I might be able to do that.

    New concentrate strength mislabeled

Warning, the new 32 oz concentrate is weaker than the old homestead syrup. Yes, the old is syrupy the new is not. The old label stating 73% content is reasonable. The new mix is labeled the same. There is no way this is correct on directly comparing old to new. Still have 4 bottles of the old to compare viscosity side by side. (If interested read up on sugar syrup mixing) I just bought 10 bottles and have no idea what the correct mixture should be. They are mislabeled. Need to know correct sugar content of new product to mix correctly. A bit irrated....

    More Birds

Hi Terry, Thank you for your review of the More Birds® Bird Health+™ Natural Red Liquid Hummingbird Nectar Concentrate, 32 oz. 2) It is the same formula and amount of sugar as the homestead concentrate. We printed slightly different mixing instructions to support the claim, “Sweeter nectar to attract more birds”. If you have any other questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Customer Service Team at 1-800-352-9164. Thank you for flying with our flock!

    Long time homestead concentrate user

I have used the homestead 32oz concentrate for a long time for both hummingbirds and oreols. I go thru 8 to 10 32 oz concetate bottles a year. I mix into a gallon jug at a time adding in a ratio of 4 water to 1 concentrate. I do not ever reduce. I have had the dry mix but was never sure how to correctly mix to match the 32 oz concentrate. Never pursued in that I could always find the homestead concentrate. Just received next years supply of new formula from now birds. Comments.... 1. The 3 to 1 ratio makes it easier to mix into a gallon. 32 + 32*3 = one gallon exactly. 2. The new concentrate is more diluted and definitely has more die. 3. Does the new 3to1 match the old 4to1 ratio in mixed strength I do not know and am irratated that i do not. The package labeling amongst all types is useless in figuring this out. Will be vary irrated if i have to experiment to figure out the answer. I do have feeders out with the old and new side by side. 4. The package content labels should be far more informative to help answer this. Recommendation: Sell and ship the older more concentrated form in a smaller bottle to mix correctly to one gallon directly. Best method with out a doubt Make it clear how much dry concentrate is needed to match above mix. The original instructions from homestead were to use from 4 to 1 to 6 to 1, instructions on dry make it worse. It would be very useful to know how old 4 to 1 ratio of stronger concentrate matches newer 3 to 1. They are not the same.... Rated at 3 stars from not knowing answer, 5 other wise
